About Copperman

Copperman is a mineral exploration and development company operationally focused on Chile since 2011. We bear a bold vision to Discover and Develop the Giant copper-gold mines of the future in Northern Chile to operate these in a responsible and conscientious manner. From our modest beginnings to our current standing, we are forging a path of persistence and innovation in our commitment to the mining industry. At Copperman, we believe that mining can be more than simply natural resources company, we can be a force for positive change.

Our history has been marked by the constant search for opportunities to Discover mining deposits globally and in the case of Chile in the Alto Atacama, starting with our first project, La Poderosa, a historically abandoned copper mine from the turn of the past century. Our priority, in addition to the Discovery and Development of the mines of the Future in Chile, is the passion to leave a legacy of Net Positive contribution to the Country, from the communities, to the environment. As we move into the future, we are proud to continue our pursuit of sustainable and transformative solutions in mining.

At Copperman, we define ourselves as a "machine with a heart". This philosophy reflects our commitment with operational efficiency, but also that we are fully aware of our positive impact on society, the environment and the economy. We believe that true success is achieved when you combine the "right mindset" with the "right heartset".

The name "Copperman" has its roots in two fundamental words: "Copper" and "Man". “Copper” being our main mineral of focus in Chile and "Man" meaning “human being” and, more specifically, the name of the family that founded Copperman. This connection reflects our deep responsibility towards the preservation and respect for the natural resources, for Chile and the environment in which we operate.

The history of the Copperman name is also intertwined with that of Chuquicamata, where in 1905 at the beginning of the commercial development of this World Class mine by Guggenheim Family via Chile Exploration Co (“Chilex”), a mummified body was unearthed which became known as the "Copper Man" was discovered. This mummy is now a priceless artifact of the Smithsonian Museum of Washington DC and is a testament of the ancient practices and knowledge that our ancestors had regarding the process of extracting natural resources.

At Copperman, we strive to continue that legacy of ancient knowledge and bring our unique contribution by seeking to develop the Mines of the Future as truly mines of the future, acting with respect and care for the environment and technological modernity. We are committed to operating responsibly and sustainably, protecting the environment at every step of the mining process. Additionally, we have worked closely with the local communities to ensure that our mining projects have a positive impact on the society fostering the local economy.

Our goal is to go beyond simply being a mining company. We want to be a catalyst for positive change in the industry and in Chile, showing that it is possible to develop mining resources in a modern, responsible and conscientious way. At Copperman, we are ready to face the challenges of the present and the future, starting with the right mindset and the intention to achieve this goal.

Our Mission

Our Mission is to construct our mines as the Mines of the Future, at the highest socioeconomic and environmental standards.

We seek to become the "Blue Miners", as the present standard of going "Green" seeks to maintain a status quo, "Blue" goes beyond this and achieves significant net benefits, seeking to quickly heal and repair our Earth with the right tools, mindset and heart.

Copperman - Mission

Our Vision of Net Positive Contribution

At Copperman, we firmly believe that “Green” should not be limited to mere minimization and maintaining a status quo as represented by the concept of targeting a "Net Zero" goal. Instead, we aim for something bolder and more meaningful being “Net Positive Contributors” above and beyond maintaining a status quo, acting as a force for positive change. This vision implies leaving a lasting positive impact on today’s World.

For us, the net positive contribution is the result of concrete and transformative actions. Imagine vast areas of deserts and arid lands in Chile being transformed through massive reforestation and irrigation through water capture and drip systems that are now being established as operational technologies. It envisions local communities empowered and strengthened through collaborative work programs, attracting tourism to indigenous communities, respecting their legacies and bringing trade to promote their durability in the Atacama Desert as communities that can keep their languages alive and preserve their traditions for future generations.

The genesis of Copperman was the search for a large deposit at the La Poderosa project. This curiosity to Discover the resources of the future in Alto Atacama of Chile prompted us to connect the missing pieces and embark on a large-scale project with limited resources at the time.

From the energy supply for a large mine, to the use of precious water resources in the Atacama Desert, from next generation minearl processing to environmental restoration, Copperman is committed to the constant pursuit of creating more with less.

Looking ahead from La Poderosa, we are focused on maintaining our principles in the future projects that we are exploring and developing in Chile, from the Luna Project to the Raiya Project. Copperman is focused on creating a better World, contributing to Chile, the communities and the environment.
