Luna Project
The Next Escondida, Next to La Escondida
La Escondida is the largest copper-producing mine in the world, with a significant advantage of approximately 200% over the next competitor in the Top 10 copper producers worldwide. It contains massive resources of circa 4.8 billion tonnes with a current reserve grade of approximately 0.7% copper.
Our Luna project is located 22 km West of La Escondida. The rocks that compose Luna are of a similar age to La Escondida, being of the Eocene geological period.
We have processed hundreds of surface samples and through geochemical analysis, we have found the presence of copper, bismuth, arsenic, molybdenum, and other typical indicator elements of a porphyry copper deposit.
The copper and molybdenum at Luna have the same geochemical concentrations and ratios as the those found in La Escondida when it was first Discovered in 1982
Through a geophysical and magnetic studies a large anomaly was identified at Luna which corresponds to the same depth at which La Escondida was Discovered in 1982. This anomaly is also coincident with phreatic levels of water detected in the area via satellite imaging.
On August 30, 2023, we confirmed the presence of chalcopyrite (primary copper sulphides) in Luna, which reaffirms that the source of a primary copper deposit is near our target porphyry copper–gold deposit at the Luna Project.
A further drilling campaign at Luna is our next step.
